Sketch Presentation @ Siggraph Asia 2008

DSC_7776

I gave a 20 min sketch yesterday at Siggraph Asia on Keeping it Real: Classical Visual Art Principles in Visual Effects.  I presented along with Danny to represent the Digital Artist Group and fellow co-workers presented for our tv division.  I thought I would be nervous in such huge theatre but all the practice actually paid off.

There was a bit of coverage from CGSociety so you can read a bit about it here

Awesome

So my very first work as a visual effects artist happened to be for Transformers. Talk about a lucky break into the industry! I did some digital matte painting(mostly damage) This kind of marks my first steps into the digital world from my traditional art roots.

Cast Drawing using the sight size method at Academy of Realist Art.  This was drawn with vine charcoal on Fabriano Michalangelo Roma Paper.  I have also added two new drawings to the Figure Drawing Gallery on the Left.  Though they are still not done you can get an idea of the work in progress.
